Christos D. Photopoulos, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon at Los Angeles-based Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic, where he specializes in sports medicine.
Dr. Photopoulos' areas of interest are arthroscopic surgery, joint preservation, knee replacement surgery and fracture care. He serves as a team physician for the Los Angeles Rams and has consulted the Los Angeles Dodgers, Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Kings, Los Angeles Sparks, the Anaheim Ducks and Los Angeles-based USC's football team. Dr. Photopoulos' research, articles and book chapters have been widely published and he remains involved in training sports medicine fellows.
After graduating from Hanover, N.H.-based Dartmouth Medical School, Dr. Photopoulos completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at Philadelphia-based University of Pennsylvania and Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. He then completed a fellowship at Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic and remained on faculty afterward.
