Gavan P. Duffy, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon at Jacksonville, Fla.-based Southeast Orthopedic Specialists.
Dr. Duffy specializes in total joint replacements of the hip and knee and his leadership in operating room efficiencies and advanced patient rehabilitation for total joint replacements is nationally recognized.
Currently serving as medical director for the orthopedic center of excellence at Jacksonville-based St. Vincent's Medical Center Southside, Dr. Duffy has also widely distributed his research and presentations and he sits on the research committee for the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons.
Dr. Duffy obtained his medical degree at the Ireland-based University of Dublin Trinity College before completing an orthopedic surgery residency at the Mayo School of Graduate Medical Education in Rochester, Minn. He then underwent fellowship training at Boston-based Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard University.
