Mark Scheer, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon at Bethesda, Md.-based The Centers for Advanced Orthopaedics.
Dr. Scheer specializes in sports medicine and knee and shoulder reconstructive surgery. He is a clinical instructor for George Washington University and Georgetown University orthopedic surgery residents.
Dr. Scheer has won the Patients' Choice Award and the On-Time Doctor Award and has published numerous peer-reviewed articles throughout his career. He serves as team physician for Gallaudet University and is affiliated with the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Medical Society of the District of Columbia and Washington Orthopaedic Society.
After graduating from Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, Dr. Scheer completed his residency at New York City-based New York University – Hospital for Joint Diseases and underwent fellowship training at Southern California Center for Sports Medicine in Long Beach.
