Michael M. Kalisvaart, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon at Reno Orthopaedic Clinic.
Dr. Kalisvaart specializes in sports medicine, trauma and joint reconstruction surgery. He has a special interest in disorders of the hip, knee, shoulder and elbow.
Dr. Kalisvaart is currently affiliated with the Reno Bighorns of the NBA D-League, the Reno Aces of the MLB minor leagues and the Reno 1868 Football Club soccer team.
He has authored several book chapters and research publications throughout his career. He has also lectured on hip arthroscopy, FAI, hip instability, primary and revision ACL reconstruction, total knee arthrosocpy, elbow and shoulder injuries and fracture care at several conferences.
A member of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, Dr. Kalisvaart is also a member of the Arthroscopy Association of North America, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and is a reviewer for the American Journal of Sports Medicine.
Dr. Kalisvaart graduated from the University of Southern California, Keck School of Medicine in Los Angeles before completing his orthopedic surgery internship and residency at Rochester, Minn.-based Mayo Clinic. He then underwent subspecialty training in orthopedic sports surgery at Stanford (Calif.) University.
