The Charlotte Business Journal named Charlotte, N.C.-based OrthoCarolina Charlotte's Healthiest Employer for the second year in a row.
Here are five observations:
1. OrthoCarolina offers its Be Well wellness program to all employees. Currently 90 percent of the staff in 39 locations participate in the program.
2. OrthoCarolina also provides a companywide comprehensive approach to total body wellness including fitness, nutrition, health screening, education and personal motivation services.
3. The Healthiest Employers award highlights local companies embracing the benefits of health and wellness programs for their employees.
4. Since 2014, OrthoCarolina has saved around $1.2 million each year in employee healthcare costs due to their Be Well program.
5. Be Well was named on of the top workplace wellness programs in the nation in 2016 by the Healthiest 100 Workplaces in America annual program.
