A newly launched pain management system aims to maintain effective epidural analgesia in post-operative pain management patients through programmed intermittent bolus medication delivery.

Smiths Medical launched the CADD-Solis pain management system version 3.0, which includes an ambulatory infusion pump, medication safety software and medication reservoirs and sets.

"Clinical studies show that PIB medication delivery provides better distribution of medication in the epidural space that helps improve patient satisfaction, decrease drug use and reduce clinician interventions," the release said.
