Nearly 1,800 patients will be left to seek alternative sources for treatment following the shuttering of an Iowa Health pain clinic this Friday, according to a Des Moines Register
Patients said that some local pain specialists and anesthesia practices have declined to accept pain patients who have been dropped by other clinics, even if the clinic was closed. Patients also report concerns that arrangements with new pain specialists will be temporary and they will no longer receive the prescriptions needed to treat chronic pain.
