Interventional Management Services, an ambulatory surgery center management and development company based in Atlanta, has acquired East Georgia Pain Management Center in Covington and Pain Management of the South in Atlanta.
Beverly Hospital at Danvers (Mass.) Pain Management Center is launching a new integrated care model that will combine traditional pain medication and injection services with a range of behavioral health, physical and integrative medicine treatments. The new care model will include pain injection therapies, medications and medication management, physical therapy, psychotherapy and addiction counseling as well as integrative therapies like acupuncture, Reiki and massage therapy in a custom-designed care plan for patients.
Regional West Physicians Clinic in Scottsbluff, Neb., has opened a new neuroscience pain clinic with help from a three-year $800,000 award from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Nebraska to develop a pain management medical home program.
Dalton Hanowell, MD, and Alisa Hanowell, MD, have opened a second interventional pain management office at Clearview Regional Medical Center in Walton, Ga. The new office will treat conditions such as pinched nerves, joint pain and broken vertebrae.
The first pain management surgery center in Kyle, Texas, is set to open this fall. The building will feature five operating rooms in nearly 13,000 square feet of medical office space. The center is owned by local area surgeons in partnership with Austin-based Arise Healthcare, and the owners have lined up commitments from a number of area physicians who will handle cases there.
A new pain management clinic opened in April at Park Plaza Simi Valley (Calif.) Medical and Professional Center. The clinic, consisting of four exam rooms and two administrative offices, will provide pain diagnostic and treatment services and will be equipped with an electronic medical records system. Other locations are in the Thousand Oaks Medical Center and Santa Monica Medical Center.
The Orthopaedic & Spine Institute in San Antonio has added chronic pain management to its offerings. The pain management center will be led by orthopedic surgeon Steven J. Cyr, MD, neurosurgeon Issada Thongtrangan, MD, and pain physician Michael S. McKee, MD.
