The city council of Hialeah, Fla., this week approved an ordinance limiting the establishment of new pain management clinics in commercial districts, according to a Miami Herald report.
Under the ban, which is intended to crack down on prescription drug abuse and dealers who resell pills, no more than one pain clinic can be established in a shopping center, and none can be opened within 1,500 feet of a pharmacy.
