The new treatment involves administering a single injection of adult donor bone marrow stem cells into a patient's degenerative disc. The technology could regenerate the deteriorating intervertebral disc and reverse damage to the spine.
Mesoblast, a global medical device company, will sponsor the trial.

Scottsdale-based Arizona Pain Specialists have been selected to participate in an FDA-cleared adult stem cell study on advanced treatment for chronic low back pain, according to a practice news release.
