Spine Leaders

Timothy Davis, MD, is the director of physiatry at The Spine Institute in Santa Monica, Calif. He is a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, North American Spine Society and the American Academy of Pain Medicine.
Dr. Davis specializes in non-surgical care for neck and back disorders. He focuses on minimally invasive intradiscal treatments for disc degeneration. He also performs and interprets electrodiagnostic studies. He is trained in interventional management techniques, such as epidural steroid and facet injections.

"Sometimes intraoperative monitoring technicians do the reading and surgeons are looking at them as the authority and they don't have any oversight," said Dr. Davis in a Becker's Spine Review article. "Find out who is doing the readings and make sure they have medical training."

Dr. Davis earned his medical degree at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine. He completed his residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at the University of California Los Angeles Medical Center and at the West Los Angeles Veteran's Hospital.

Dr. Davis will speak on "Key Concepts to Improve the Profitability and Outcomes of Spine Programs" among other topics at the 11th Annual Orthopedic, Spine and Pain Management-Driven ASC Conference in Chicago from June 13 to 15, 2013.
