Spine Surgeon Leader to Know: Dr. Matthew Dobbs of St. Louis Children's Hospital

Matthew Dobbs, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon at St. Louis Children's Hospital and an associate professor of orthopedic surgery at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. He is a member of the board of directors of the American Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He is also a deputy editor of Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research.
Dr. Dobbs is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He specializes in pediatric orthopedics and pediatric spinal deformities. His clinical interests include scoliosis, skeletal dysplasias, spinal fusion and neuromuscular disorders. He has authored many articles and is active in research related to the genetic aspects of orthopaedic conditions.

Dr. Dobbs earned his medical degree at University of Iowa in Iowa City. He completed an orthopedic surgery residency at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. He has also completed a fellowship in pediatric orthopedics with addition training in pediatric spinal deformity at Shriners Hospital for Children in St. Louis.
