John J. Regan, MD, is the medical director of Spine Group Beverly Hills (Calif.) and the co-director of St. Vincent Spine Institute in Los Angeles. He is also an associate clinical professor of orthopedic surgery at University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, North American Spine Society and Cervical Spine Research Society. He is also an associate at the American College of Physicians.
Dr. Regan is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and specializes in the field of minimally invasive spine surgery and disc replacement. His clinical interests include cervical herniated discs, degenerative spinal disorders, lumbar degenerative disc disease and scoliosis.
Dr. Regan has written a book on minimally invasive spine surgery techniques called "The Atlas of Endoscopic Spinal Surgery." He has also won the Spine Arthroplasty Society Certificate of Appreciation for outstanding contribution as presenter at SAS8 Global Symposium on Motion Preservation Technology in 2008.
Dr. Regan earned his medical degree at the State University of New York Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse. He completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at Raleigh-based University of North Carolina. He has also completed a fellowship in spine surgery at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore and a spine-trauma fellowship at A.O. International in St. Gallen, Switzerland.
