Board-certified orthopedic spine surgeon Gregory Mundis Jr., MD, serves patients at Scripps Clinic Torrey Pines in La Jolla, Calif.
He specializes in treating cervical thoracic and lumbar spinal deformities, including scoliosis, kyphosis and sagittal plane deformities. Dr. Mundis' research emphasizes minimally invasive reconstruction for scoliosis and treatment of severe pediatric deformities.
Dr. Mundis serves as co-director of the San Diego Center for Spinal Disorders' San Diego Spine Fellowships as well as a member of International Spine Study Group. He annually travels to underserved areas around the globe, offering children spine care and training local surgeons in modern techniques.
Dr. Mundis earned his medical degree from University of Missouri Columbia School of Medicine, where he also completed his orthopedic surgery residency. He then completed his orthopedic spine surgery fellowship within the San Diego Spine Fellowship Program.
