Arya Nick Shamie, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon practicing at Los Angeles-based Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center.
Dr. Shamie serves as chief of orthopedic spine surgery at UCLA School of Medicine, where he has been a professor of orthopedic surgery and neurosurgery since 2000.
He was a two-term President of the American College of Spine Surgery and is a qualified medical evaluator for the State of California.
Dr. Shamie graduated from Chicago-based Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine before completing his residency in orthopedic surgery at San Francisco-based St. Mary's Medical Center and his two fellowships at the UCLA School of Medicine in spine surgery and biologics research lab, respectively.
