Ying H. Chen, MD, is a neurosurgeon at Columbus, Ohio-based OrthoNeuro, where he specializes in spinal disorders with an emphasis on complex spine and microneurosurgical procedures of the spine.
Dr. Chen utilizes minimally invasive techniques such as endoscopic procedures and neuronavigation technology. He has published several works on skull base imaging and spinal artificial disc technology and has spoken about outpatient spinal surgery at the American Skull Base Society, American College of Osteopathic Surgeons. Dr. Chen has developed curriculums for neurological surgery residency training and actively trains and teaches medical students, residents and fellows.
After obtaining his degree from Des Moines (Iowa) University College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Chen completed his residency at Columbus-based Doctors Hospital, OhioHealth Systems and underwent skulls training at Bloomington, Ill.-based BoMenn Regional Medical Center's Midwestern University before undergoing a spine surgery fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic.
