John R. Caruso, MD, is a neurosurgeon and president of Hagerstown, Md.-based Parkway Brain and Spine.
Dr. Caruso treats complex, traumatic, degenerative and oncological conditions of the spine and utilizes minimally invasive surgical techniques. A member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, Congress of Neurological Surgeons, American College of Surgeons and many more societies, Dr. Caruso has studied, lectured and taught all over the country. His work has been widely published and he is licensed to practice in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Colorado, North Carolina and West Virginia.
After graduating from Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Dr. Caruso stayed on at Eastern Virginia to complete his residency before completing his chief residency in neurological surgery at Albuquerque-based University of New Mexico Hospital.
