Gary Schmidt, MD, is a spine surgeon and director of adult degenerative spine surgery at the Pittsburgh-based Allegheny General Hospital.
In addition, Dr. Schmidt serves as a clinical assistant professor at Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia and the president and founder of GL Schmidt Services, a medical consulting firm.
Board certified in orthopedic surgery, Dr. Schmidt is a fellow of the American Association of Orthopaedic Surgery and a diplomat for the American Board of Spine Surgery. He is also a member of the North American Spine Society and International Society for the Advancement of Spine Surgery.
After earning his medical degree from the Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine in Hershey, Dr. Schmidt completed his residency at Allegheny General Hospital. Dr. Schmidt is also fellowship trained from the OrthoCarolina Spine Center in Charlotte, N.C.
