Robert J. Banco, MD, is a spine surgeon and founder of the Boston Spine Group.
In addition, Dr. Banco serves as an associate clinical professor at Boston-based Tufts University School of Medicine. He previously served as chief of orthopedic surgery at New England Baptist Hospital in Boston.
Board certified in orthopedic surgery, Dr. Banco has received the Castle Connolly Top Doctor Award since 2009. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, New England Spine Study Group, North American Spine Society and Society of Lateral Access Surgery.
After earning his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington D.C., Dr. Banco completed his residency at the University of Massachusetts Memorial Medical Center in Worcester. Dr. Banco is also fellowship trained from the New England Baptist Hospital.
