Hospital pharmacies are being forced to increase drug compounding efforts to meet demands after the closure of the New England Compounding Center and related compounding pharmacies linked to a fungal meningitis outbreak, according to WBUR Boston.

Kirkham B. Wood, MD, is the chief of the orthopedic spine service and program director of the spine surgery fellowship program at Massachusetts General Hospital Boston. He has a special interest in adult spinal deformity, degenerative conditions and spinal trauma. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Wood is actively involved in teaching medical students and residents as an associate professor of orthopedic surgery at Harvard Medical School in Boston.
