St. Paul, Minn.-based HealthEast System plans to open a spine clinic in a space formerly occupied by a Gander Mountain Store in Maplewood, Minn., according to a Twin Cities Pioneer Press report.
The spine center, which will be located near a mall in Maplewood, is expected to open this fall.

Health systems in the Twin Cities are opening medical offices in retail spaces, making for a more convenient patient experience. HealthEast is opening a primary care clinic in St. Paul in a former Borders bookstore and Allina Health System recently moved a clinic into a former Old Country Buffet in Highland Park, Minn., according to the report.

Other health systems are following this trend across the nation.
