Thomas C. Schuler, MD, and Christopher R. Good, MD, both of the Virginia Spine Institute in Reston, Va., have performed robot-guided spine surgery during a thoracic fusion procedure to repair a spinal fracture.
This is one of the first times such a procedure has been performed in the Mid-Atlantic region of the U.S.

Drs. Schuler and Good performed the surgery at HCA Reston (Virginia) Hospital Center. They used Mazor Robotics' Renaissance robotic guidance products to perform the minimally invasive procedure.
