Vertebral Motion Analysis Comes to Allegheny General Hospital

Spine

Allegheny (Pa.) General Hospital is the first hospital in the state to obtain Vertebral Motion Analysis, technology created by Austin, Texas-based Ortho Kinematics that uses fluoroscopy to take real time images of the spine while the patient is in motion. VMA technology received FDA in 2012. The test takes about 30 minutes and uses approximately 30 percent less radiation than standard diagnostic x-ray procedures.

Allegheny General Hospital is one of five facilities in the US to have use of VMA technology.
