7 Orthopedic Practices Expanding or Merging

Here are seven recent mergers, acquisitions or expansions for orthopedic practices nationwide. American Spine & Surgery Center, a spine and pain management center based in Maryland, opened its 10th location in Gettysburg, Pa., which will begin seeing patients on April 1.

Tucker, Ga.-based ONP Specialty Group announced that it has opened an orthopedics division in Atlanta. The Atlanta Orthopedics division of the ONP Specialty Group will be headed by Kenneth Johnson, MD, a practicing orthopedic specialist.

Raleigh (N.C.) Orthopaedic Clinic and Rex Healthcare in Raleigh opened the Raleigh Orthopaedic Surgery Center, a joint venture between the two organizations.

Montgomery, Ala.-based Southern Orthopaedic Surgeons is building a $4.9 million orthopedics and sports medicine facility on the campus of Baptist Medical Center East in Montgomery.

Lock Haven (Pa.) Hospital announced that it will partner with Martin & Suhey Orthopedics in State College, Pa., to provide orthopedic and sports medicine care.

Crystal Clinic Orthopaedic Center, in partnership with Summa Health System, has opened a new outpatient facility with six orthopedic surgeons in Hudson, Ohio.

Georgia Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Surgery, formerly the practice of Mark Cullen, MD, has been acquired by the Gainesville, Ga.-based Longstreet Clinic.
