10 Statistics on Concierge Medicine in the US From 2009 to 2012

The Concierge Medicine Research Collective released new data on concierge medicine in the U.S., based on surveys and polls from physicians between 2009 and 2012. Here are five general findings from the report.

•    Most popular specialties in concierge medicine: primary care, family medicine, cardiology and pediatrics
•    Average annual pay for concierge physician: $200,000 to $300,000
•    Typical age of a concierge physician: 40 to 59 years old
•    Number of patients seen per day: 6 to 8
•    States with the most concierge physicians: Florida, California, Pennsylvania and Virginia

Here are five compensation statistics from the report.

•    Physicians earning up to $100,000: 14 percent
•    Physicians earning $100,000 to $200,000: 23 percent
•    Physicians earning $200,000 to $300,000: 25 percent
•    Physicians earning $300,000 to $400,000: 21 percent
•    Physicians earning $400,000 to $500,000: 6 percent
