Hospital for Special Surgery Honors Dr. Oheneba Boachie-Adjei, Celebrates 150th Anniversary

Today at its 30th Annual Tribute Dinner, the Hospital for Special Surgery will celebrate its 150th Anniversary and award Oheneba Boachie-Adjei, MD, the Lifetime Achievement Award. Dr. Boachie is the chief of scoliosis service at the Hospital for Special Surgery. He has expertise in the adult and pediatric spinal reconstruction and the treatment of scoliosis and kyphosis. Dr. Boachie is the founder of the Foundation of Orthopedics and Complex Spine, which provides patients in developing countries affordable spine care. Last year, FOCOS, Hospital for Special Surgery and the Scoliosis Research Society opened a comprehensive spine hospital in Ghana.

At the tribute dinner, the Hospital for Special Surgery will also honor the city of New York. Mayor Michael Bloomberg will accept the award on behalf of the city.
