Philadelphia-based Temple University Hospital and Montgomery County, Pa.-based Holy Redeemer Health System are partnering to offer neurosurgery and neurology services to more patients, according to CBS Philly.
Here are four things to know:
1. Temple Hospital neurosurgeons and neurologists will treat patients at Holy Redeemer.
2. The hospitals established the partnership to offer services close to patients' homes.
3. Temple Hospital will also offer Holy Redeemer patients telemedicine stroke evaluations. The hospital will transport patients via Temple Transport Team for additional interventional stroke care if necessary.
4. “This agreement will improve community access to neurological care and ensure that patients receive safe, high-quality specialty care in a timely manner, at locations convenient to them,” said S. Ausim Azizi, MD, PhD, Chair of the Department of Neurology, Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University.
