Madhavan A. Pisharodi, MD, has recently received a patent for an improved solar panel, according to The Brownsville Herald.
Here are five highlights:
1. The improved solar panel traps much of the wasted sunlight that reflects off conventional solar panels and recycles the sunlight within the panel.
2. Dr. Pisharodi's panels are more complex than the conventional variety, which means they would be more expensive to manufacture, though the extra cost would be offset by their greater efficiency and the fact that fewer panels would be required.
3. Dr. Pisharodi currently has around 60 patents from the U.S. Patent Office, including one for an enhanced artificial disc and another for an intervertebral disc cage and stabilizer.
4. Dr. Pisharodi owns the Pisharodi Medical Clinic in Brownsville, Texas.
5. Dr. Pisharodi earned his medical degree from Calicut Medical College in India and completed his residency in neurological surgery at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. He is affiliated with Valley Regional Medical Center in Brownsville.
