Ken Smith, MD, was awarded the 2016 Hope Award by the Johnson City, Tenn.-based nonprofit Spine Health Foundation. The Hope Award recognizes physicians who support the Spine Health Foundation's mission to help disadvantaged individuals in need gain access to spinal care.
Here are four things to know about Dr. Smith:
1. He is a neurosurgeon, with special interests in frameless stereotactic surgery, cerebrovascular disease and treatment of chronic pain disorders.
2. He practices at Blue Ridge Neuroscience Center in Kingsport, Tenn. He is also a participating provider for the Spine Health Foundation.
3. He is a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons.
4. He received his medical degree from Emory University in Atlanta, where he also completed his residency.
