Here are five updates.

At the Congress of Neurological Surgeons annual meeting in San Diego, Russell Lonser, MD, delivered the presidential address with an emphasis on technology and big data. The meeting occurred Sept. 24 to Sept. 28.

 

Pensacola, Fla.-based NeuroMicroSpine's Mark Giovanini, MD, performed the first outpatient transformational lumbar interbody fusion with the FDA-approved Avenue T device from LDR.

 

Park Rapids, Minn.-based CHI St. Joseph's Health welcomed Brennan Smith, DO, to its team, according to The Pilot-Independent.

 

Orthopedic spine surgeon Ahmed Saleh, MD, joined Maimonides Medical Center in New York City.

 

Alan Van Norman, MD, will begin seeing patients once a month at Sanford Health West Dickinson (N.D.) Clinic, on Nov. 8.
