The American Hospital Association will honor orthopedic spine surgeon James N. Weinstein, DO, with the Justin Ford Kimball Innovators Award.

 

George Ampat, FRCS, a consultant orthopedic surgeon at England-based Royal Liverpool University Hospitals, wrote a self-help book for people living with back and neck pain.

 

Alejandro J. Betancourt, MD, earned recognition as a 2017 Top Doctor in Harlingen, Texas.

 

Tobias Mattei, MD, joined Easter Maine Medical Center in Bangor.

 

Southern California Institute in Thousand Oaks added orthopedic spine surgeon Edmund Choi, MD, to its team.

 

Richard Wohns, MD, performed a live cervical disc replacement procedure video streamed on Facebook and YouTube last week as part of the Maldives Spine Conference 2017.

 

Orthopedic surgeon Antoine G. Tohmeh, MD, of Spokane, Wash.-based Deaconess Hospital performed the 100th operation in Zyga's SImmetry Sacroiliac Joint Fusion study.

 

Morgan Lorio, MD, received the first Distinguished Service Award from the International Society for the Advancement of Spine Surgery.

Charbel, MD, of the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Chicago were honored at the AANS annual meeting in Los Angeles.
