Neal ElAttrache, MD, an orthopedic sports medicine physician with Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Institute in Los Angeles, recently performed elbow surgery on Los Angeles Dodgers reliever Blake Hawksworth, according to an ESPN report.
The arthroscopic shoulder surgery was performed to remove a bone spur and scar tissue in Mr. Hawksworth's right elbow. He is expected to spend four to six weeks recovering from the surgery and begin his throwing program during spring training.
