The surgery was performed at Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City. The surgeons removed bone fragments from Mr. Williams' left foot. A timetable for recovery and return to play are not yet been disclosed.

Martin O'Malley, MD, and Riley Williams, III, MD, team physician for the New Jersey Nets, performed foot surgery on Nets forward Shawne Williams, according to a Sacramento Bee report.
