The new protocol was created by specialty physicians and certified athletic trainers and is consistent with the Florida High School Association's requirements for concussion management. The new protocol is designed to bridge the gap between research and clinical practice. In application, the physicians and specialists hope the protocol will reduce complications related to concussions and enhance the safety of athletes in play.
