UPMC Sports Medicine has expanded its concussion program, which includes nine examination rooms for a 24-person multispecialty staff devoted to assessing, treating, managing and researching concussions.
Michael Collins, PhD, is the director of this program. The facility added a 3,500-square-foot second floor, where patients have access to vestibular, exertion and medicine therapies as well as clinical examinations. The specialists see most of their 13,000 concussion patients per year at the facility.
