James Andrews, MD, of Andrews Institute for Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine in Gulf Breeze, Fla., will perform exploratory shoulder surgery on Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Dustin McGowan, according to an
MLB report.
Dr. Andrews will perform arthroscopic shoulder surgery to determine the extent of damage done to Mr. McGowan's shoulder. Until a diagnosis is confirmed, a timeline for Mr. McGowan's recovery is not known.
