David Altchek, MD, an orthopedic surgeon at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City, will perform shoulder surgery on New York Mets pitcher Tim Byrdak, according to an ESPN report.
Mr. Byrdak will undergo the procedure to repair a torn anterior capsule in his left shoulder. He could return in the second half of the 2013 season.
