Saadiq El-Amin, III, MD, PhD, assistant professor of surgery and director of shoulder and sports medicine at Southern Illinois University, has been named team physician at University of Illinois Springfield, according to a State Journal-Register report.
Dr. El-Amin earned his medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, where he also earned a PhD in molecular and cellular biology. He completed additional training in orthopedic surgery at the University of Virginia Health Sciences Center and shoulder and sports medicine surgery at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City.
