Dallas Mavericks team physician T.O. Souryal, MD, of Texas Sports Medicine, has performed knee surgery on Mavericks power forward Dirk Nowitzki, according to a Dallas News report.
Dr. Souryal performed the procedure to release fluid building in Mr. Nowitzki's right knee. He is expected to return to play within six weeks.
