James Andrews, MD, performed knee surgery on Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III, according to a Fox Sports report. Mr. Griffin injured his knee earlier this season and aggravated the injury in the team's recently playoff loss. Dr. Andrews performed surgery to repair a torn right lateral collateral ligament.
During the surgery, Dr. Andrews may decide whether the anterior cruciate ligament needs repairing as well, according to the report.
