San Diego Padres prospect Rymer Liriano will undergo reconstructive elbow surgery performed by team physician Heinz Hoenecke, MD, according to an MLB report. Mr. Liriano tore his ulnar collateral ligament while "playing long toss" during the off season. The surgery will be performed in San Diego this week and the team hopes Mr. Lirano will be able to return to play in nine months.
