UC San Diego Health System has named Christopher Wahl, MD, chief of sports medicine. Dr. Wahl has a special interest in treating traumatic sports injuries and focuses on cartilage restoration and transplantation, knee and shoulder repair, rotator cuff repair and shoulder stabilization. He previously served as associate professor and team physician for the University of Washington in Seattle.
Dr. Wahl earned his medical degree at Yale University in New Haven, Conn., where he also completed his residency. His additional training includes a sports medicine and shoulder surgery fellowship at Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City and the American Orthopedic Society Traveling Sports Medicine Fellowship.
