Orthopedic surgeon Scott E. Powell, MD, was elected to the MusiCares Board of Directors. MusicCares is the Grammy's charitable arm that provides medical assistance for musicians without adequate medical insurance, along with human services for struggling musicians. Dr. Powell, a founding member of Sha Na Na, earned his medical degree at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York and completed his fellowship in sports medicine at Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles.
Dr. Powell co-founded Stetson Powell Orthopedics and Sports Medicine in 2005.
