Dr. Lewis Yocum Dies at 65

Orthopedic Sports Medicine

Lewis Yocum, MD, orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist, died at age 65 of liver cancer, according to a report by The Sacramento Bee.  Dr. Yocum served as the Los Angeles Angels team orthopedic surgeon for 36 years and practiced at the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles. He specialized in shoulder, elbow and knee surgery. Dr. Yocum is credited as one of the key orthopedic surgeons treating major league baseball injuries.
