Retired orthopedic surgeon Paul Spray, MD, has been chosen to receive the 2013 Mayo Clinic Alumni Association Humanitarian Award for his years of service, according to a knoxnews.com report.
Dr. Spray began practicing in 1950. From 1959 to 1988 he made 23 annual month-long trips to nearly 20 different countries to provide orthopedic care.
He will receive the award Sept. 27 at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn.
Dr. Spray is 92.
