Here are six orthopedic surgeons treating professional athletes this past month.

James Andrews, MD, performed knee surgery on New England Patriots running back Dion Lewis. He will repair the torn ACL in Mr. Lewis' left knee.

 

Robin West, MD, is going to be the new team doctor for the Washington Nationals. Dr. West is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and the medical director at the Inova Sports Medicine Institute.

 

Peter Millett, MD, an orthopedic surgeon at The Steadman Clinic in Vail, Colo., will perform shoulder surgery on San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick. Mr. Kaepernick has a torn labrum in his non-throwing arm.

 

Robert Watkins, III, MD, performed spine surgery on desert golfer and Ladies Professional Golf Association winner Nicole Castrale. Dr. Watkins and his team performed a laminotomy, removing some of the disc material and some ligaments in an arthroscopic procedure.

 

Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush has been designated as the Official Orthopedic Provider of the Chicago Men's and Women's Platform Tennis Leagues, Region V of the American Platform Tennis Association.

 

Patrick Connor, MD, performed knee surgery on Denny Hamlin, a NASCAR racer. Dr. Connor is an orthopedic physician practicing at OrthoCarolina in Charlotte.
