US Olympic Committee welcomes University of Utah Health Care to medical network: 3 takeaways

The United States Olympic Committee added Salt Lake City-based University of Utah Health Care to its National Medical Network, according to The Daily Utah Chronicle.

Here are three takeaways:

 

1. The healthcare system will be a national medical center providing orthopedic, neurosurgery, physical medicine, primary care, dentistry, psychiatry and ophthalmology services to U.S. Olympic athletes.

 

2. University of Utah Health Care joins New York City-based Hospital for Special Surgery and Steadman Philippon Research Institute and Steadman Clinic in Vail, Colo.

 

3. The National Medical Network providers offer U.S. Olympians medical care, assist in athletics-focused research and help with Olympic athlete education.
