Stanford (Calif.) Health Care will serve as the medical provider for the 71st U.S. Women's Open Championship.
Here are five highlights:
1. The event will take place July 4 to July 10 in San Martin, Calif.
2. Stanford Health Care will host a Wellness Pavilion, where Stanford University athletic trainers will screen participants for golf mobility. The pavilion will also allow participants to compete in a putting competition and provide a cool-down area complete with couches and TVs.
3. This is the first time California will hold the U.S. Women's Open in more than 30 years.
4. Former Secretary of State and Stanford professor, Condoleezza Rice, will serve as the championship's honorary chair.
5. Stanford Health Care is part of Stanford Medicine, which also includes Stanford University School of Medicine and Stanford Children's Health.
