Los Angeles-based Cedars-Sinai named Mark Vrahas, MD, as the founding chair of its new orthopedics department.

He also served as chief of the Partners Orthopaedic Trauma Program at Massachusetts General and Boston-based Brigham and Women's Hospital.
3. He focuses on orthopedic trauma and pelvic surgery, and he has mentored dozens of residents and fellows.
4. Dr. Vrahas founded the Harvard Orthopaedic Trauma Initiative, which aimed to enhance collaboration among orthopedic trauma services at Harvard-affiliated teaching hospitals.
5. He completed fellowships in biomechanics research at the University of Iowa in Iowa City and in orthopedic trauma and adult reconstruction at the University of Toronto in Canada.
