Illinois Bone and Joint Institute and Lake Cook Orthopedics officially announced details of their upcoming merger Wednesday.
Here are four things to know.
1. The two independent practices will merge Oct. 1. Once complete the combined practices will feature 22 clinics and more than 100 physicians.
2. Illinois Bone and Joint was founded in 1990 and has several locations across the north and northwest suburbs as well as in Chicago. Lake Cook Orthopedics opened in 1980 and has grown to a nine-partner orthopedic practice.
3. With the merger, Illinois Bone and Joint physicians will begin serving patients in the greater Barrington area as well as in McHenry and Kane Counties.
4. The latest merger is the 10th for Illinois Bone and Joint.
